In a statement released by AFL Victoria it said that on the back of Monday’s State Government announcement around easing some restrictions, AFL Victoria’s position around training is that no sanctioned training should take place until further notice.
“AFL Victoria will seek clarity from the State Government around what the announcement means for community football and be in contact in due course.
“A number of considerations around health and safety protocols and insurance need to be worked through prior to any training being sanctioned.
“AFL Victoria will provide a return to play protocol for community leagues and clubs once it is approved by the State Government.
“As soon we have more information, we will communicate the position.”
Many local sporting clubs will be keen to start training, even if it is within the allowed 10 people per group plus a coach/instructor as recommended in the first stage of restrictions easing.
