At the same R. Premadasa Stadium venue in Colombo where the previous day's match between Sri Lanka and Australia was rained off, Indian, put in to bat, were all out for 247 on Sunday before they dismissed Pakistan for 159 off 43 overs.
The match started frostily as the two captains, Pakistan's Fatima Sana and India's Harmanpreet Kaur did not shake hands during the toss, and ended similarly when the teams didn't ackknowledge each other, reflecting the political tensions between the two South Asian neighbours.
The captains at the recent men's Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates had taken the same path.
The only half-century of the game came from Pakistan's Sidra Amin, who made 81 but her side still fell a long way short even after she had shared a 69-run fourth-wicket partnership with Natalia Pervaiz (33).
Pakistan had lost their first wicket in confusing fashion when opener Muneeba Ali was adjudged run out.
Ali had grounded her bat after returning to her crease, having moved forward to play a shot.
But she had lifted her bat when an Indian fielder hit the stumps, leaving captain Sana to argue with but fail to convince the fourth umpire that the batter hadn't been attempting a run.
Richa Ghosh returned figures of 3-45, completing another fine game after she'd also made a quickfire 35 not out to lift India to a competitive total after Harleen Deol had laid the foundations by top-scoring with 46.
Smriti Mandhana (23), Pratika Rawal (31), Kaur (19), Jemimah Rodrigues (32), Deepti Sharma (25) and Sneh Rana (20) all made valuable contributions for India, with Ghosh hitting two sixes and three boundaries as they scored 44 off the last five overs.
But their innings was plagued by hordes of insects swarming around, with the game having to be stopped because they were bothering all the players, including Pakistan's Rameen Shamim, who needed help from her skipper to get rid of a bug apparently stuck in her eye.
Pakistan players used bug sprays to try to get the flies to disperse but to no avail until it was decided to bring everyone off the field for 15 minutes so a man in a gas mask could fumigate the area.
India now top the eight-team league with two wins in two games, a point ahead of defending champions Australia.
