The event includes a two-course dinner and features a dance floor, allowing the audience to get up and have a little bop.
Entertainer Issi Dye and his partner Glenn Douglas will present a fully costumed performance honouring these legendary artists.
“The connection is that Roy Orbison worked with the Everly Brothers many, many times in the ’50s and ’60s; they recorded each other’s songs,” Issi said.
“Back in the days of the ’50s, when all the music changed, they were two of the artists that came out of the same stable with Elvis and Johnny Cash.”
The show promises authentic recreations of both acts, with Glenn Douglas performing as Roy Orbison in full costume, including wigs and the iconic glasses.
“It is not just a guy that gets up in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt,” Issi said.
“He looks and sounds like the original artist, which is what we are trying to achieve.”
The performance will feature beloved hits including the Everly Brothers’ Dream, Dream, Dream and Bye Bye Love, along with Orbison classics such as Only the Lonely, Crying, and Pretty Woman.
“We try to get everyone up and dance,” Issi said.
“It becomes an interactive performance for us. If people are sitting in a theatre, they can’t get up and dance, but at a club, we can encourage them to get up and have a little bop around.”
Doors open at 5pm, with dinner served at 6.30pm and the show starting at 7pm.
The dinner is a two-course, alternate drop menu serving lamb shanks and chicken for mains, and banana fritters and chocolate panna cotta for dessert, with gluten-free options available.
