A second straight 67 vaulted Green to 14 under par entering the final round as Australia's world No.7 chases a rare hat-trick of tour victories on Sunday at Gold Coast's Sanctuary Cove course.
Green will be odds on to add the Karrie Webb Cup to the Australian Open crown she won last week in Adelaide and the Women's World Championship in Singapore, which was her seventh LPGA title.
No player in women's golf has enjoyed such a dominant stretch since long-time former world No.1 Korda when the American won five consecutive tournaments in 2024.
Yet such are the lofty standards Green is setting these days that the West Australian planned on heading to the range after mixing three three bogeys with seven birdies in her four-under-par round on Saturday.
"It was overall a good day. Had lots of birdies out there, a couple of slip-ups," Green said.
"But probably more so bogeying 17 and parring the last, which feels like a bogey. That probably puts a dampener on it.
"But I haven't really practised like I have for normal tournaments so I feel like some shots are coming away from me.
"So hopefully I can hit some balls this afternoon and tidy that up, but obviously my game's in good shape and hopefully I can shoot another low one tomorrow."
Swiss Vanessa Knecht and South African Casandra Alexander have emerged as Green's closest pursuers after both posting third-round six-under 65s.
England's Meghan Maclaren had been two shots behind Green at the halfway mark but fell four behind with a third-round 69.
Finland's Noora Komulainen joined Maclaren at 10 under with a blazing third-round 63 that featured eight birdies in her last 11 holes.
A former major winner, Green is confident her energy levels will hold up despite a gruelling month-long period staying mentally on top of her game while physically grinding out excellent rounds one after the other.
"I love coming back home. Yes, there's more expectation and there's more things that I need to do," the 29-year-old said.
"But it's to grow Australian golf, so hopefully we have some more people come out and watch us."
At nine under and tied for sixth, Indian pair Diksha Dagar (65) and Hitaashee Bakshi (67) and German Alexandra Fosterling (69) are the only other players within five shots of Green.
