Kyabram woman caught doing 187kph in 60 zone

A KYABRAM woman caught driving at 187km/h in a 60 zone will face court after being charged with 11 offences, including reckless driving endangering life and driving with a suspended licence.

On October 28 police observed the woman's 2001 XR6 Falcon on Ramsay St in Rochester. She failed to stop for police, but was arrested the following day at her residential address in Kyabram.

The vehicle was impounded.

The woman has been bailed and will face the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

¦ On October 26 at approximately 4pm a car with stolen number plates was observed by police doing routine detection on Albion St.

The driver, a man from Koyuga, initially stopped for police outside Betta Electrical, but sped off once the officers got out of their vehicle.

He proceeded to drive down the wrong side of Allan St.

The following day, the same offender stole a vehicle in Echuca and later handed himself in at the Echuca police station.

He will face a raft of charges before the Echuca Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
