A woman has been carried to shore after suffering a serious leg injury when she was attacked by a shark at a quiet beach.

Paramedics were called to Gunyah Beach at Bundeena, on the southern outskirts of Sydney, about 1.30pm on Friday after being told a woman had been bitten by a shark.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was treated for significant leg injuries after she was carried out of the water.
She was airlifted to Sydney's St George Hospital in a serious condition, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.
Bundeena is a small village surrounded by national park and fronting the Port Hacking River.
