Following the amalgamation of Corowa and Urana Shire Councils in 2016 a Land Use Strategy, consolidated Local Environmental Plan (LEP), Development Control Plan and Development Servicing Plan will be developed that meets the needs of the entire new council area.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said it is important the community is involved with creating a clear, consistent planning framework that will guide future land use in our area.
“We invite everyone in the community to share their vision for the future and provide feedback on how they would like to see land used in the local area,” he told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“We want to understand the types of housing, commercial and industrial development spaces you think we need, your thoughts on agricultural land zoning and if there are areas of interest that need environmental or heritage protection.
“Your participation is the key to ensuring the new plans represent a shared vision for the future of Federation.”
Mulwala and district residents are invited to attend a community information session on Thursday, August 8 in the Mulwala Civic Centre from 4.00pm to 6.30pm.
