The roll out of Moira Shire Councils kerbside organic waste collection to the un-serviced areas of Cobram, Numurkah, Yarrawonga and the township of Tungamah from early September is on track according to Mayor Libro Mustica.
“For the past few weeks we have been sharing information and updates with residents in these areas and we look forward to delivering the new service from early September,” Cr Mustica said.
“The most common feedback has been ‘it’s about time’ and ‘I agree’.
“There have also been queries, particularly from residents with home composting and chooks who are already doing a lot to minimise the waste they send to landfill.
“It’s important that we continue to emphasise how important this service is to containing waste management costs and protecting our local environment.”
