A Dunlop Street unit was entered and ransacked whilst the residents were sleeping in the early hours of Monday, September 23. Stolen from the residence was a bag of clothing and a bag containing prescription medication. A shed at the rear of the unit had a quantity of tools also stolen. The value of the theft is not known by police at this point.
ATM cash thief comes clean
A Yarrawonga woman was using a Belmore Street ATM at 3pm on Monday, September 23, when she believed that the machine had malfunctioned, she walked into the Central Murray Credit Union to report the malfunction. Unbeknown to the woman the ATM had dispensed the $300 cash. A male walking past has then observed the cash and removed it and walked off. The male was later observed and was approached by credit union staff. On being informed that he was captured on CCTV the male then handed the cash back to the staff.
Attempted entry on Burley
A Burley Street business was targeted when offenders cut a cyclone mesh fence overnight on Tuesday, October 1. It is believed the offenders may have been disturbed as there appears to be no entry to the property.
Op shop targeted
Thieves have targeted a Benalla Road Op Shop when they have forced open storage bins at the rear of the property overnight on Tuesday, October 1. Offenders have then forced open the rear door and have made off with a metal framed queen-sized bed and a gas heater. The value of the theft is not known at this time.
Truck batteries stolen
Fifteen truck batteries were stolen from a rural property on Chinaman Lane, Tungamah in the early hours of Wednesday, October 2 by unknown offenders who were believed to be driving a V8 utility which was last seen travelling east. The value of the theft is $150.
Weapons offences
A 30-year-old Yarrawonga male is to be charged with weapons offences after being intercepted as a result of his car leaving the road and going through a farm fence at Bundalong at 7:40am on Thursday, October 3.
Clothing store shoplifter
A female has entered a Belmore Street retail store and stole clothing to the value of $200 at around 1pm on Friday, October 4.

A Farm security and Firearm Storage Information Night is being held in Tungamah on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30pm at North Vic Ammo Supplies, 361 Lawrence Road Tungamah.
