The Yarrawonga District Australia Day celebrations this Sunday morning at Kennedy Park will see member of Grain Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and Southern Region Panel Committee member of Riverine Plains Fiona Marshall be the guest speaker.

Fiona has been farming with her husband for 23 years at Redbank, 20km north of Mulwala, where they are broadacre, dryland grain producers and also operate a sheep enterprise.
Fiona has a background in applied science and is passionate about improving the profile and profitability of Australian grain growers as well as raising the profile of women in agriculture and promoting agriculture as a viable and rewarding career from young people.
A free breakfast will be provided by Rotary Club of Yarrawonga Mulwala from 7.15am as well as entertainment and a flag raising ceremony with formalities beginning at 8.45am.
This year a competition for children was introduced with students asked to draw “what Australia means to you”. Entrants drawings can be seen in shop windows along Belmore Street with the winners to receive a gift voucher which will be presented at the celebrations.
