A spokesperson from Yarrawonga Health said; “The person recently returned from overseas and was mandatory isolating as required in return from travel when they developed symptoms of COVID-19”.
“Telephone contact was made, followed by presentation to YH and infection control procedures were implemented immediately.
“The process ran smoothly, with the patient well enough to return home following assessment until test results were received.
“The person has remained at home, is recovering and will continue with self-isolation.
“Yarrawonga Health reminds the community the best way to protect yourselves and your family is to wash your hands regularly, cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when coughing or sneezing and maintaining a social distance of 1.5 meters. Also stay at home if you are unwell.
“If you’re returning from overseas you must observe the mandatory quarantine period of 14 days.”
The Department of Health and Human Services have confirmed Victoria now has a total of 411 cases.
Of the 411 there have been 350 in metropolitan Melbourne and 41 in regional Victoria. A number of cases remain under investigation.
Multiple cases have occurred in the regional local government areas of Greater Geelong (10), Ballarat (4), Baw Baw (2), Greater Shepparton (3), Surf Coast (2), Warrnambool (2), Macedon Ranges (2), Mitchell (3) and Mount Alexander (3). Bass Coast, Gannawarra, Hepburn, Latrobe, Mildura, Moira, Moorabool, South Gippsland, Wellington and Yarriambiack have all recorded one case.
