For more than 130 years the Yarrawonga Show has been an important annual event in the community as we welcome warmer Spring weather and a new harvest.
It’s only the third time in the event’s 137-year history that the Yarrawonga & Border Agricultural & Pastoral Show Committee have had to cancel, the previous times were during World War II.
Show secretary Sue Jackson said the committee are committed more than ever for next year’s show
“Never fear we will be back better than ever next year,” Sue said.
The committee have already been busy planning for the 2021 show also applying for a couple of grants to assist.
“A grant from the Victorian Government has allowed us to invest in a state-of-the-art sound system to assist on show day, so no one misses out on what’s happening on the day,” Sue said.
“We are also having an extension power board installed to save us from hiring equipment on the day – allowing us more money to spend on entertainment.
“People may be also aware of a new irrigation system being installed which we have contributed to, this will spruce up the arena.”
Sue said they are always keen to have new faces on the show committee.
“Our committee is made up of people from all walks of life and we would be delighted to welcome some new members.
“If you have any thoughts on what you would like to see on show day next year we would love to hear from you.
“Never fear we will be back bigger and better next year to the delight of both the young and old!” Sue said.
