Attendance was noticeably up on previous years, with families making a day of it to enjoy everything the show had to offer.
Yarrawonga and Border Show secretary Sue Jackson said the event exceeded expectations.
“It was a fantastic show with wonderful gate attendance of lots of happy children and adults,” Sue said.
“We received so many compliments, and everyone had a fantastic time.”
Highlighting the weekend’s attractions, Sue said the Wild Action Zoo and French Circus were real standouts, drawing large crowds throughout the day.
Traditional favourites, including horse and carriage rides, also proved extremely popular.
For the youngest visitors, the Old Kentucky Animal Nursery, a children’s pavilion full of activities, face painting, and hair braiding, kept everyone busy and entertained.
Community groups also showcased their work, with the CFA, SES, police, ambulance and other organisations engaging the public and adding an educational element to the festivities.
The committee acknowledged the vital role of the local community in making the show successful.
“We are so grateful to our sponsors, site holders, community groups and volunteers; this event simply wouldn’t happen without you,” Sue said.
With great weather, record attendance, and a program that appealed to all ages, the 142nd show will be remembered as a highlight on the region’s calendar, setting a high benchmark for years to come.
