$25,000 for local community house’s food relief efforts

“We know the cost of living is hitting families hard – these grants will help organisations big and small deliver fresh, nutritional food to families and support the volunteers who make it happen every day,” Ms Symes said.

The local community house will receive $25,000 to provide food parcels and ready-to-eat meals for people in need, maintain a microwave station for community use, and deliver monthly cooking workshops and community barbecues to promote social connection.

The Numurkah Community Learning Centre also received $18,500 to purchase food and packaging for culturally appropriate meal kits, and to provide fortnightly community lunches that combine shared meals with practical, take-home resources.

Across Victoria, the program boosts supplies for large-scale food relief organisations, and supports volunteers on the front line.
