A wonderful time – Phil Bott

Departing Tunzafun supervisor Phil Bott finished duty at Mulwala’s Amusement Park last Saturday and ended with a social night attended by some 15 volunteers from over his two years in the job.

“I’ve had a wonderful time at Tunzafun,” he said. “It’s left a hole. I wish Tunzafun all the best.

“The fact that Tunzafun has broken through the barriers in NSW and Victoria as far as people attending (COVID-19) has been satisfying.”

Some big groups are planning to spend time at Tunzafun, the first ‘locked in’ being over 80 school students from Deniliquin on December 4.

NSW Rural Fire Services’s membership officer Alisha Benson had to put on hold a visit for to 250 people because of COVID-19 restrictions. But the visit is sure to eventuate.

At Tunzafun last Friday it was a big thank you to Di Evans OAM who looked after the financial bookwork related to Mulwala’s Amusement Park.

Di has called it a day from the bookwork and was praised for her work over the last 15 years by park co-ordinator Robert Purtle OAM and volunteer George Jenkins.

“Di took care of all our accounting bookwork and that included all the work associated with special new park rides acquired from Italy and China,” George said. “We thank her and wish her all the best.”

Tunzafun is on the look-out for a new supervisor and had a large advertisement placed in last week’s edition of the Yarrawonga Chronicle. The Melbourne Street Mulwala located park opposite Mulwala Water Ski Club would also welcome any additional volunteers, especially with the festive season fast approaching.
