“All going well construction will start February and be completed April 2020,” council’s director engineering services Steve Carmichael said.

Tenders for the playground construction closed on December 16. “Council will evaluate the tenders and subject to compliance and budget will award the contract in January 2020,” Mr Carmichael, who expects ‘three to four tenders said.

“The project is expected to be constructed and open ready from spring 2020.

“Timeframe can vary depending on the hero piece and specialty products. Some items have been advised as taking between three to six months and have to come from Germany.”

Mulwala-based Federation councillor, Bronwyn Thomas sought and welcomed the latest news.

“I commend council on the many brilliant community-based projects (following Federation Council’s formation in 2016) and I am particularly pleased people will see some physical evidence of this special All-Abilities Adventure playground in the first part of next year,” she said.
