Woods Point Aged Care facility has its first mural, an approximate 3m x 2.5m acrylic painting of Lake Mulwala on a wall in the large dining room area.

Two ribbons to officially open the impressive mural were cut by artist Tim Redfern and Glenn Owen who undertook the preparatory work for Tim to paint.
“Woods Point has had the most amazing mural painted by local artist Tim Redfern,” CEO Bentley Wood Aged Care Marita Seamer told Yarrawonga Arts Group members and aged care residents at the official opening on Tuesday, May 14.

“It’s close to the dining room for residents to be able to enjoy. We gave Tim free range regarding the subject. We’re all blown away.”
Arts group member Vivian Spilva OAM came up with the idea of a mural, for the residents to enjoy. “We thank Vivian for her idea, Tim for painting the mural for free and also thank Hunters very much for donating the paint,” the CEO said.
Tim, who is acting president of the Yarrawonga Arts Group, was asked by the Yarrawonga Chronicle for his comments on his work, from a president’s perspective.
“I really like it and thinks it’s terrific!” Tim, the usual vice-president responded.
The talented portrait and landscape artist from Mulwala completed the mural over four days and didn’t hesitate as to the mural’s subject.
“I thought I’d do one of the lake – it’s such an attraction for Yarrawonga Mulwala.”
It’s an attraction for Woods Point residents and visitors too.
