It doesn’t matter if your joints are creaking, your wheels are squeaking or you are super fit, you are welcome on court.
The Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort Croquet Club supports the key message that keeping fit and being the healthiest person you can be is very important and the club are wanting everyone to know that regardless of your fitness, activity or mobility levels, you can play croquet at the club.
Betty Mahoney is a long-standing member and loves croquet for the outdoor activity, the challenge of the game and the great company.
Having played for 12 years and been heavily involved in the running of the club, Betty said “it is extremely important that croquet is an all abilities sport for our community, enabling outdoor exercise, stimulation for the mind and great company.”
Now at 86 years young and as a resident of Karana, Betty needs to use her mobility walker all the time, however, she has a strong message to everyone which is “it is always possible to play, no matter your physical ability, be patient and enjoy the exercise.”
