There were many happy memories and stories exchanged throughout the day.
Big Koonoomoo blaze
The Koonoomoo area was flooded with 32 CFA units, and some fire brigades on the NSW side of the river, after a grass and scrub fire started on February 13.
The fire, located on the Cobram Track near Koonoomoo, began at 7.43am.
Forest Fire Management Victoria was also in attendance, and helicopter water bombers were also deployed.
According to a CFA spokesperson, firefighters were faced with multiple fires burning when units arrived at the scene.
Victoria Police was notified of the incident, which was brought under control at 10.14am and deemed safe at 11.36am.
Campaspe wards to go
Campaspe Shire will change from its existing five-ward structure to an unsubdivided shire with all nine elected council members representing the whole municipality.
The Echuca, Western, Rochester, Kyabram-Deakin and Waranga wards will be disbanded at the next local government election in October.
The electoral changes were based on feedback provided by constituents to an independent electoral structure review panel appointed by Victorian Local Government Minister Melissa Horne.
