Along with others, these young musicians will be in the second heat of the Amplify-funded competition, to be held on the Lake Benalla Foreshore on Saturday, October 4 from 3pm – 6pm.
The North East Battle of the Bands is a collaboration between five municipal councils, each facilitating a heat which is planned and managed by local young people.
The competition attracts young emerging and experienced soloists, duos and bands to perform an array of music genres, including rock, country and rap.
The winners of the Benalla heat will be provided the opportunity to perform on-stage at Benalla by the Lake, as part of the 2025 Benalla Festival.
One band and one solo act from each heat will progress to the regional final, to be held in Mansfield later in the year.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the competition highlights the talent and energy of local young people.
“The North East Battle of the Bands is a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to showcase their talent, build confidence, and connect with the community in a safe and supportive environment.
“It’s exciting to see so many local acts bringing energy and creativity to the stage.
“The Benalla Festival is a wonderful celebration of our community.
“Having young performers from the Battle of the Bands on the main stage gives them a chance to shine and helps make the festival an unforgettable experience for everyone.”
Entry is free to this all-age music festival, however anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This a fully supervised drug, alcohol, smoke and vape-free event.
Whether competing or in the crowd, Battle of the Bands is a highlight on the social calendar for many young people in Benalla Rural City.
The event gives musicians a platform to develop their stage performance in a safe, supportive environment, while the council-led Amplify Crew gain skills and experience in planning and event management.
The event is an energetic celebration of music and social connection.
