The group hired a bus from Benalla Bus lines and picked up guides from Euroa and Mansfield on the way.
A Girl Guides spokesperson said the girls had a sleepover at the Tallangatta memorial hall and took part in lots of exciting activities during the stay.
“One hundred years of guiding is amazing. In Benalla we've been guiding for 92 years so we will soon have 95 years to celebrate,” the spokesperson said.
“Our guide hall in Benalla which stands on a hill in Lowry Place is 82 years old.
“It was built in 1941 in Mair St for the youth of the town, Girl Guides and Scouts.
“(It) was shared there until it was moved by the Lions club in the early 1960s to Lowry Place where it stands today.”
In the mid-1960s the Scout hall was built opposite the shared hall and it was then decided each group would be responsible for their own entity.
Benalla Guirl Guides meet on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm each week of the school term.
“Ninety-two years is a long time and lots of girls have passed through our units over the years enjoying lots of outdoor camping, cooking, travel and challenging experiences,” the spokesperson said.
“Girl Guides can take you to lots of places for lots of experiences depending on what you want to do.
“Girl Guides is for girls aged from six to 18, and for adults of any age.”
