The guest speaker for the luncheon was Mary Hoodless who is the Coordinator of the Fischer Community Leadership Program.
Mary, who runs a consulting business working with the not-for-profit sector, gave a highly informative talk about her life, family and career in the health sector over the years.
Club member Noreen also spoke about the Inner Wheel District A54 International Project One Girl – Girls School Program in Sierra Leone, two videos were also shown about this project which were highly informative.
All profits from the luncheon will go towards this wonderful project.
Fundraisers like this wouldn’t go ahead without the wonderful support received by local businesses who generously donate prizes for raffles and door prizes.
The club’s raffles on the day raised over $1060.
Sing Australia also entertained guests during the meal with a lot of the ladies joining in with some of the popular songs.
Corowa CWA provided all the lovely cakes, scones and slices, while local businesses both here and Howlong provided the savories and sandwiches.
A special thank you to the Corowa Civic Bowls Club for the use of their room as well as providing bar staff and Erica who did an amazing job in the kitchen with the help of Sharon and girls from the Corowa High School who also did a great job waitressing.
