Our A-grade team came together well for our first game of the season.
They worked the court with accuracy, using positions and skill to their advantage.

We started the season off with a win.
The girls moved the ball down the court with strong passes, tight defence and good direction, resulting in strong shooting.
The whole team worked through lots of position changes well.

C-grade: Blighty 31 def Yarroweyah 13.
What a great start to the season with a win on the board.
We still have a lot to work on as a team, but everyone came together and got the job done.

Under-17s: Blighty 72 vs Yarroweyah 12.
Blighty travelled to Yarroweyah for round two for our first game of the season.
With a few girls missing this week, we asked four of our under-15s girls to step up, and they all proved they were more than ready for the task.
Ruby Pisasale was placed in GD and didn’t miss a beat; she defended strongly and was so athletic down the court, which was an absolute pleasure to watch.
Milly Hanmer was dominant in the centre and controlled solid attacks to our shooters.
Catie Michael and Gwen Gazzara also took the court, showing great determination and attacking skills, which was exciting to see.
Well done, girls.
Ash Charlton took control in the goal ring, always reliable and scored goals consistently all day, backed strongly with partner Sammy Watson.
Super proud of my Redeyes this week with a huge win, which was a team effort, with all players giving their all and showing great potential and good sportsmanship.

Under-15s: Blighty 34 def Yarroweyah 16.
The under-15s had a fantastic start to the season; everyone gave 110 per cent on the court and all worked well as a team.
A few of the girls tried new positions and gave it their all.
This was a great way to start the season, and we look forward to next week’s match against Mathoura.

Under-13s: Blighty 38 vs Yarroweyah 8
A fantastic team effort, with all girls working hard to secure a convincing win.
Lexi, Kaydnce and Lena worked hard in the mid-court, moving the ball down the court using space, accurate passing and excellent communication.
Ella shot accurately with Savannah to create an early lead, with Lily constantly intercepting and sending the ball back into attack.
Players showed depth and diversity with many changes at breaks.
An exciting year is ahead for this talented young group.

For the girls’ first game this season, the girls came out firing.
With plenty of goals and some great passages of play down the court.
The defensive end worked tirelessly to produce many turnovers, with the mid-court working on their dodges and coming in front.
