A 15-year-old boy faced court after he was arrested on Friday, September 5.
The teen was charged with three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of theft of a motor car, two counts of attempted theft of a motor car, and two counts of obtaining property by deception.
Senior Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd said Cobram police took the matter extremely seriously due to the invasive nature of the alleged offences.
“We’d like to thank the community who provided us with information subsequently leading up to the arrest,” he said.
He called for residents to remain vigilant by locking their homes and consider installing CCTV if feasible.
Police allege the boy was involved in multiple burglaries and car thefts in Cobram last month, including at homes on Wadeson, Pine and Wirbill Sts.
Most recently, on August 27, police allege an MG was stolen from a home in Warbill St, Cobram.
It was recovered in Shepparton during the early hours of the following morning.
The teen was bailed with a curfew to appear before the Children’s Court in November.
