The team was made up of students from Years 5, 7 and 8 as well as two staff. Year 5 student Charli Blackie made the decision late last year to take part and had fundraised over $2500.
Charli decided to shave her head for her nan who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She had plaits over 30cm long, so her hair is able to be donated to the World’s Greatest Shave to be made into a wig.
Charli was well supported by fellow students year 8’s Adam Lowden and return shaver year 7 student Ceijay Amies.
Year 7 student Ceijay Amies and Year 8’s Adam Lowden both shaved their heads to raise money and awareness for the great cause.

This is the third time Ceijay has shaved his head with each year he has been on the 5-8 campus he has decided to take part in the great cause. Each year Ceijay has also improved his fundraising with this years total amassing over $600.
Adam decided only a week ago to shave his head and decided to cut it right down to a number one. Adam decided to take part as he thought it was for a good cause.
Year Seven Co-Ordinator Jason Bassett also raised over $150 on the spot to shave his head and 5-8 maths teacher Bailey Brear dyed his hair peroxide for the great cause.
The World’s Greatest Shave has a significant meaning to the Yarrawonga College P-12 and local community.
The school is very proud of the efforts in raising close to $1,574.
Donations can also still be made by searching for ‘Ycp12’ team on the World’s Greatest Shave website.
