Grants for 2026 are open now and close on October 30.
CEF has long been a lifeline for students from the Edward River region, offering support for course costs, accommodation, study tools and more.
For James Bould, the impact has been deeply personal.
He is in his third year of a Bachelor of Engineering at Swinburne University, majoring in architecture.
“CEF has been fantastic for me,” James said.
“They’ve provided funding for every year I’ve been at uni.
“The scholarship has been great, and the opportunities have been even better.”
Originally from Deniliquin, James is thriving in his studies and proud of the path he’s chosen.
“I’m loving it, and very happy with my major,” he said.
“The support services and the people there (with the Country Education Foundation) to help are incredible.
“Anyone intending to go to uni or the like should absolutely go for it.”
James’ story is just one example of how CEF Edward River helps bridge the gap between ambition and access, especially for students who need to relocate for study.
Applications for the 2025 grant round are now open. For more information, visit cef.org.au or follow CEF Edward River on Facebook.
