The Spring Pairs has seen Darren Edwards and Nev Page qualifying after wins over Darren Thompson and Cooper Yeomans and the Gus McMillan/Deb Harbrow combination.
Darren Thompson and Cooper Yeomans are the other finalists after victories over Jake Thompson/Daryl McKernan and Gus McMillan/Deb Harbrow.
Interesting to note that both finalists lost a match in the qualifying rounds, so a betting market is proving very difficult to frame.
Monday, September 2 saw Spring doubles action whilst September 4 social play saw new member Tony Cincotta announcing his arrival at the club with a win over Darren Edwards.
Having recently moved to Yarrawonga and being a very keen and talented snooker player one of Tony’s first priorities was to find a snooker fix.
He promptly joined the club on his first visit and has been demonstrating his skills and soon to be reduced handicap ever since. Welcome Tony.
Jake Thompson also casually potted the black off its spot to claim the cash jackpot for the regular social night challenge.
Diggers Tribute on September 9 saw Jake Thompson taking out Tony Cincotta in the final.
Social play on Wednesday, September 11 was taken out by Nev Page who edged out Daryl McKernan in a close finish.
Monday, September 16 was taken up with Spring Pairs but Daryl McKernan made amends for the previous week when he took out social play on Wednesday, September 18 with a win over Michael Barclay.
Both Daryl and Michael won their way through a round robin draw to get to this final so well played to you both.
On another note, club member Darren Edwards, who also happens to be a seriously good golfer, took out the amateur section of the recent Barham 36 hole Pro-Am with scores of 74 and 75 to finish 3 over par for the weekend.
This is a great result considering the standard of entries in that tournament. Darren also happened to beat about half of the professionals who competed so very well played Darren and congratulations.
