Gather a group of friends, come along and enjoy a beautiful morning tea from 9.30am - 12pm provided by YFIC volunteers and generous members of the community as well as the chance to go into the draw to win some beautiful prizes donated by very generous local businesses.
An array of savoury and sweet delights will be available, with organisers saying donations of home-made slices, biscuits and small cakes would be gratefully received at the Mulwala Water Ski Club between 4pm and 6.30pm the day before the event or before 7.30am on the Wednesday.
For a $10 contribution, guests will relish a morning tea “with fun and friendship to be had”, YFIC secretary Leon Porter said.
The May 14 event raises money for those tackling cancer in the district and helps pays for expenses such as accommodation at Albury’s Hilltop patient and carer centre or petrol for travel to Melbourne hospitals.
Raffle prizes include a $500 load of wood donated by Martin Casey, a backyard blitz donated by Yarrawonga/Mulwala Rotary Club, two-hour session for two people on the golf simulator donated by the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort, a 48litre soft insulated esky donated by Skin Ski and Surf, and many more.
Raffle tickets will be available on the day or sold before the event at Woolworths from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday, May 7 and Friday, May 9, whilst on Thursday, May 1 and 8, tickets will be available for purchase at IGA.
The Yarrawonga Friends in Common committee would like to take this opportunity to thank Mulwala Water Ski Club for their wonderful support for this event every year, and in particular Cathy Randell who makes it all happen.
Also thanks to those who have donated cakes and slices, the students of Sacred Heart College and Margie Duncan who assist with the spinning wheel, Jane Morris and students who bake small cakes and all the businesses who have so generously donated gifts for the spinning wheel and for the raffle.
