Community's heart celebrated

Yarrawonga Health, in collaboration with the Yarrawonga Mulwala Community and Learning Centre, Moira Health Alliance and Nathalia Cobram Numurkah Health hosted the event to celebrate volunteers who are the backbone of their communities.

Yarrawonga Health community engagement manager Jo Spence said in her speech that volunteers were the community's heart.

“Your time, compassion and commitment truly make Yarrawonga Health stronger, and our whole region healthier and more connected,” Ms Spence said.

Heather Kelly from YMCLC told the crowd that volunteering had helped her develop skills, build relationships and make memories.

“It enriches our lives and builds meaningful connections,” Heather said.

“It reminds us that by helping others we find meaning and purpose in our own lives.

“And it shows us just how powerful kindness and community can be.”
