The programs are designed to reduce isolation and create safe spaces for residents to connect.
A new digital literacy program will also see young people helping older residents build confidence with technology and stay connected to their community.
The funding is part of Council’s ongoing program, which supports not-for-profit organisations to deliver projects, programs and events that benefit residents across the Shire.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson said the grants help remove barriers and create a healthy, safe and connected Shire.
“Council is proud to partner with local community groups that understand the unique needs of our townships and work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for all,” Dr Emonson said.
“By fostering social and cultural inclusion, we are ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, ability or background, has equal opportunity to participate in and contribute to our community.”
More than $26,000 was shared between three community groups as part of the latest round of grants, including two Numurkah organisations.
All funded activities align with Council’s strategic priorities to ensure that as Moira grows, every resident feels included and supported.
