After hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the event returned last year and attracted more than 200 people, raising $11,000 with organisers optimistic for a similar outcome.
The May 15 event at Mulwala Water Ski Club raises money for those tackling cancer in the district and helps pays for expenses such as accommodation at Albury’s Hilltop patient and carer centre or petrol for travel to Melbourne hospitals.
For a $10 contribution, guests will relish a morning tea “with fun and friendship to be had”, YFIC secretary Leon Porter said.
“It’s the first and probably biggest of our fundraisers – the money we raise stays in the district, and hopefully we can get another strong turnout,” Mrs Porter said.
An array of savoury and sweet delights will be available, with organisers saying donations of home-made savoury and sweet slices, biscuits and small cakes would be gratefully received.
There will also be door prizes from local chemists and pharmacies, a major raffle and prizes for the spinning wheel kindly donated by local businesses.
“We’d like to give a massive thank you to the several local businesses and shops who have provided us with fantastic prizes for the spinning wheel and raffles,” Mrs Porter said.
Mrs Porter said donations of cakes and slice would be gratefully received and can be brought to the ski club from 4pm to 6.30pm the night before, Tuesday, May 14.

The event - which is supported by the ski club - will run from 10am to 12.30pm, with doors to open at 9.30am with plenty of morning tea goodies on offer.
