The call out is for the annual CVGT Employment 2022 Toy Drive, which will run from December 1-16. CVGT Employment is kick-starting the toy drive with a donation of $1000.
People can donate new and unwrapped toys or a locally purchased gift card at CVGT Employment sites across the Goulburn Murray.
The toys will be delivered to children, aged between nine months and six years, of ParentsNext families before Christmas.
CVGT Employment Chief Executive Officer Jason Russell said that the floods have been devastating for many families in the Goulburn Murray community and sadly some participants have lost their homes and possessions.
“We are determined to make sure they don’t lose Christmas, so we’re reaching out to the community to help the ParentsNext families affected by this tragedy have a happy Christmas by donating a brand-new unwrapped toy or locally purchased gift card,” Mr Russell said.
Due to hygiene concerns, only new purchased items can be accepted. Flood-affected victims will be prioritised, with all children in the program to receive a present.
“In the spirit of providing further economic and social benefits to the communities in which we operate we ask that you consider purchasing your donation from local flood-affected stores,” Mr Russell said.
People can deliver their donation to any CVGT Employment location in the Goulburn Murray region - Yarrawonga, Echuca, Albury, Wodonga, Shepparton, Bendigo and Kilmore - until 5pm on Friday, December 16.
“This will give us enough time to wrap and deliver before Christmas,” ParentsNext manager Kathryn Lord said.
“If a business would like to make a donation, please get in touch and help us make a little magic this Christmas.”
