The event, held for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, marked the revival of what was once a regular fixture on the regional sporting calendar.
The Deniliquin side took to the field on Saturday for three round matches, in the opens mixed division.
They impressed early, securing two strong wins before narrowly going down in their third game.
Their efforts were enough to earn a place in the semi-final, which they won and made it through to the final, where they faced a determined Narrandera outfit.
Despite a spirited performance, Deniliquin fell short, going down 7-3 in the decider.
While the result wasn’t the fairytale finish they had hoped for, the tournament showcased the depth of talent and teamwork within the Deniliquin touch football community.
Back in the Moama-Echuca Touch Association competition, the Spartans continue to dominate.
They remain undefeated and sit proudly atop the ladder with six wins and a draw.
The Leftovers, meanwhile, have shown flashes of brilliance, collecting three wins from their five matches.
With 14 points, they currently occupy fifth place, keeping themselves in the mix as the season progresses.
