Courtney is an ambassador, alongside Matt Moran, for the 2023 Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards, where the chefs will be sampling as many of the 160-plus competition dishes as possible.
YMGCR are in the running with their very delicious grilled Murray Valley pork chop which is topped with caramalised apple, rosti potato, grilled asparagus and pork jus which has been a hit for locals and visitors alike.
Some of the other dishes they are in competition with range from the Sydney Rowing Club’s Moreton Bay bug rigatoni gratin to the Broken Hill Sturt Club’s masala style lamb shanks.
YMGCR Digital Marketing Manager Rob Alexander said that the local pork chop was an easy choice to enter for the awards.
“The grilled Murray Valley Pork Chop was chosen as our entry by popular demand,” Rob said.
“We have found it to be an overwhelming favourite and as well as the delicious taste, it also looks great on the plate.
“Being put together with local produce and showcasing more of our region was also a great drawcard, we are very proud of our product.
“This is the first time we have entered the Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards and we are looking forward to seeing how far we go.
“Come in and try our pork chop and vote for us!”

Chef Courtney found her passion for cooking at around nine years of age before beginning her career at the beloved “bowlo” in Putney, which she went on to manage for 11 years.
“I originally started cooking as I am the youngest of six children and my parents worked so to help them and so we could eat at a reasonable time, I would help mum and my love just stemmed from there,” Courtney said.
“Club food has come such a long way in the last 10 years or so — there are hatted chefs working in club kitchens and club restaurants that are consistently booked out every weekend.
“I think people are going to be blown away with the calibre of the dishes that clubs have entered in Perfect Plate this year.
“Clubs are the lifeblood of their communities. During floods and bushfires, it’s often the local club stepping up as an evacuation centre and looking after those in need.
“The Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards is a great initiative as we are focusing on grassroots. It is normal food, good food that people want to eat.
“This is a more relatable concept.
“There has been a wide variety of dishes from a wide variety of venues, and all have been of great quality, that is what’s nice.
“The grilled Murray Valley pork chop presents very well and is very tasty. I definitely urge locals and visitors alike to come down, try this delectable meal and vote for it to win the competition!”
Between May 30 and July 9, the public is encouraged to visit YMGCR to taste the Perfect Plate dish on offer and give it a score out of five by scanning the unique QR code or filling out a simple paper form.
While diners can only vote for a Perfect Plate dish once, they are encouraged to taste as many competition dishes at as many NSW clubs as possible to boost their chances of winning a prize.
A $100 eftpos gift card will be given away every day of the competition and the two diners who vote for the most Perfect Plate dishes will win a ‘foodie getaway’ for two valued at over $3,000 each.
The 13 clubs that receive the highest average score for their dishes based on patron ratings will be crowned the winner of their respective region.
There will also be three state-wide winners announced in the small, medium and large club categories.
The Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards are now in their third year, with a tofu dish taking out the top spot in the state-wide large club category in 2022, challenging the notion of what many would consider a typical club meal.
