Police are investigating after a car was broken into at a Colbinabbin property on Tuesday, June 11.
    
                  
                                                                
                  
                                            
                              
        Leading Senior Constable Scott Jones said a man in his early 60s was woken in his home about 4.30am by noises outside.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        The man ran outside and yelled out to a person who had gained access to his car, Leading Sen Constable Jones said.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        A wallet containing personal cards and $50 was taken from the car.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        The person left the property in a white single-cab ute, with the Colbinabbin man unsuccessfully chasing the ute, Leading Sen Constable Jones said.

        “This is a wake-up call for people to make sure they lock their cars, especially if you are living in a rural area,” Leading Sen Constable Jones said.
