On Wednesday, the Easter Bunny was on hand to lift the Easter excitement.
Sergeant Hadjialexiou and Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer Tegan were supporting the Easter Bunny as he made his way to both schools.
The Easter Bunny had some chocolate eggs to hand out to the kids, before hopping off to ensure everything is set up and ready to go for Easter.
Get your time capsule envelopes
Plans are progressing to fill the Rotary Club of Deniliquin time capsule again.
Envelopes have been on sale since last year, and will ramp up again with a scheduled June burial.
Rotarians will be at the Deniliquin Kiosk tomorrow selling envelopes, and on other weekends in April and May.
New envelopes for the 2050 capsule can also be purchased from My Shop in Napier St, 1521 2QN or the Pastoral Times office.
Envelope prices are between $10 to $100, depending on size.
Rotarians say items which could be included in your envelope include letters to children or other loved ones, photographs, reports and any other documentation that reflects life in 2025.
Local exhibition draws to close
The Deniliquin Artlife group’s exhibition at the Peppin Heritage Centre will close this weekend.
The exhibition, called ‘Art in Life’, saw close to 100 artworks by local artists included.
With only a few days left, don’t miss this opportunity.
The Peppin Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday 9am to 2pm.
Entry to the exhibition space is by a $3 donation.
Big band big plans
Deniliquin’s South West Music Regional Conservatorium has put the word out through their Facebook for their big band practices.
The group will meet weekly, with a time and start date yet to be set.
“As a member of a big band, you'll have the chance to play exciting arrangements, develop your improvisational skills, and gain valuable experience performing in front of live audiences,” SWM said.

Good Friday edition
The Deniliquin Pastoral Times will print on both Tuesday and Friday next week as normal, despite Friday being the Good Friday public holiday.
You’ll be able to get the edition at any of your normal local outlets which open on Good Friday, except the Pastoral Times office, which will be closed.
Our office will also be closed on Easter Monday, although journalists can be contacted by phone or email.
Make sure to pick up a copy of our Tuesday edition next week, where you’ll find a handy Easter entertainment and shopping guide.
