Yesterday, Tuesday, November 12 the exhibition opened with a puppet show held at 11.30am.
With the tragic events happening all around the world at the moment being beamed to us via all sorts of media, there is no better time to showcase cultures from around the world so that we can reach an understanding and acceptance of our differences.
To bring compassion and tolerance into our lives, it is up to ordinary people – you and I – adults and children from all over the planet to realise that underneath everything we are all the same... human beings.
The exhibition will showcase the works of students and volunteers from the “Barry’s Shed” workshop at the Yarrawonga College P-4 campus which was very well supported by Barry Bowles and will be inclusive of a number of cultures.
The workshop has been working on cultural diversity with the students and everything made is to go towards the school’s “Magical Mystery Tour” around the world production next year.
There will be a puppet show, made and run by students throughout the exhibition with John Halfpenny narrating, an on-hand live painting demonstration by a P-12 student artist, Hallie Fredericks and weaving demonstrations daily.
Some of the most amazing student artists, who are artists within their own right have put together some brilliant creations which the school is very proud of and should be seen to be believed.
Puppet shows will be run every day at 12.30pm with an on-hand live painting demonstration from P-12 student artist Hallie at 11.30am.
Make sure to come and check out the cultural diversity exhibition at the Yarrawonga College P-12 Community Workshop from Tuesday November 12 to Friday, November 15 and witness for yourself the excellent work going on in our town.
