Allan St will be closed between Goddard St and Saunders St from 9.30am to 11.30am for the march that will end with the laying of wreaths during a service at the memorial gardens.
As marchers come through the Memorial Walk gates there will be an “eyes right” command for Mr Lloyd. This is in recognition of significant service in World War II when as a leading aircraftsman Mr Lloyd spent 12 months in Indonesia on Morotai Island.
In addition, it is recognition of his standing within the Kyabram community, his contribution to this community and to the Kyabram RSL.
As an aircraftsman, Mr Lloyd was required to service a modified Liberator bomber that was used to transport Sir General Thomas Blamey.
“Anzac Day is sacred, you never forget what happened,” Mr Lloyd said.
Kyabram RSL Sub-Branch is inviting nominations from community groups and members who wish to lay a wreath at the memorial service on Anzac Day.
Kyabram RSL Sub-Branch will be selling Anzac memorabilia in the week prior to Anzac Day with street stalls and at the Kyabram Football Anzac round on April 22. Please support these local businesses and the RSL.
As the monies raised are used to aid veterans within the Kyabram community, we would be grateful for volunteers to assist with sales of the memorabilia. Please contact Ally Britnell on 0407 942 340 if you are able to assist.
