It was three different but very good games for all United players as they continue to improve from playing together each week.
Thanks to Sheree Spiteri and her fantastic group of volunteers who put their hand up to assist with the BBQ, canteen, goal umpiring, scoreboard work etc. The day ran very smoothly and was enjoyed by all.
Next week United make the journey to the Lavington Sports Oval. Players are reminded to be there an hour before their game.

The Under 14 girls again played on a near full-size oval in another competitive game.
United began well with multiple forward entries kicking 1 goal and 4 points to Wangaratta 0 in the first quarter.
In the second quarter the Rovers were able to get the ball into their forward line more but United’s defenders in Chelsea Hopwood, Lexi Nagle and Matilda Altoft stood tall returning the ball into the midfield on numerous occasions.
Like last week, as the game progressed into the second half, so did United with some good ball movement and forward entries, but a score was hard to come by.
Midfielders Hannah Loughnan, Shaye Power, Evelyn Niedzwiedzki, Amelie Thompson and Lauren Hewitt were pouncing on every loose ball, sending it forward at every opportunity.
Blayze Seymour was at every contest driving the ball towards goal where Ella Nixon again looked very dangerous, this time kicking two goals.
Other good contributors on the day were Zoe Beatson, Ella Pund, Angie Skipper and Georgia Baines.
Overall, it was a great team effort which resulted in a close win against a much improved Wangaratta Rovers team.

United came out firing from the first bounce dominating the centre breaks and creating many forward entries.
The score line at quarter time of United 53 points to Rovers 0 set the tone for the rest of the game.
Taylah Power was up and about from the first bounce kicking 4 goals in the first quarter and setting up several others.
Matilda Lyons was relentless with her pressure and centre breaks. Trinny Preer played her best game of the season confidently driving the ball forward and bringing other players into the game.
Sam Peppler did not lose a ruck contest all game allowing Mackenzie Winnell, Mia Spiteri, Tash Wilson, Ruby Riley and company to pounce on the ball and send it forward.
In previous weeks where United had most of the play but could not capatalise on their opportunities, on Sunday they did.
All players lifted to another level, the pressure and intensity on the contest was relentless which then resulted in the Rovers turning over the ball on countless occasions.
The girls now take great momentum and confidence into what should be a fantastic game against ladder leaders Lavington this Sunday.
Open Womens
United 2.4.16 lost to Wangaratta Rovers 4.3.27
Goals: Megan Wheeler 1, Claire Hibbert 1.
Best: Amie Antonello, Emily Hurley, Megan Wheeler, Sally Doolette, Claire Hibbert, Amy Niklaus.
The Open United team produced their best performance of the year. They should have been so proud of the way all players contributed.
The number of linked possessions and their willingness to create a contest was the hallmark of their performance. The United team were leading at the 8-minute mark of the final quarter but Wangaratta hit back with two unanswered goals to run out victors by 11 points.
A special moment occurred after the game when the players decided to sing the team song even though they lost, which says a lot about the team’s character and how they felt about their effort.
Emily Hurley, who is one of the co-coaches was brilliant across the middle and on ball.
Amie Antenello, another of the co-coach, grabbed everything that come her way.
Amy Nickaulus was brilliant on the flank.
Sally Dolley was so determined at full back.
Annie Robilliard tried her heart out andMaddie Duffy played her best game for the year.
