Hosted by the Mulwala Football Netball Club the popular event marks the opening of the cod season and continues to cement its place as the largest freshwater fishing competition in the country.
Event organiser Tony Bennett said he was pleased with early registration numbers.
“Registrations are going along nicely. It’s pretty comparable to last year, when we had around 2,200 entries in total,” Tony said.
Crowd favourite Merv Hughes will again be in attendance, along with two of the biggest names in cod fishing—Wangaratta local and YouTube sensation Robie Alexander, along with prominent Australian angler, TV presenter, writer, and content creator, will help host the Friday evening proceedings.
