Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort and ClubMulwala both donated a generous $10,000 and the Mulwala Water Ski Club donates a further $3500.
The funds will help Foodshare source and distribute fresh and nutritious food to more than 4000 residents each month, ensuring those who experience hardship have access to essential supplies.
Moira FoodShare general manager James Rouel expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the local community.
"We are incredibly thankful to the three clubs in Mulwala for their recent generous contributions," Mr Rouel said.
“Their combined support of $23,500 is vital as this enables us to respond to growing need and continue making a difference in people’s lives by delivering fresh, nutritious food, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.”
Each month, Moira FoodShare distributes food across 19 rural townships, working closely with local agencies and community groups to meet the growing demand for food assistance.
Mr Rouel said the funds from the clubs would help strengthen the organisation’s capacity to source and distribute essential food supplies where they were needed most.
“These donations reflect the strong community spirit of Yarrawonga and Mulwala,” he said.
“Moira FoodShare is looking forward to further strengthening partnerships with local businesses and organisations to continue its mission of reducing food insecurity in rural Victoria.”
Mr Rouel added that anybody willing to contribute $10 a month, or $2.50 a week could help provide stability to continue Foodshare’s work by joining the community fundraising campaign Mission 250.
