The mood is pure joy at Gallery 294 this month where seven local artists each capture life’s special moments, from love and friendship to dance, nature, and the simple pleasures.
The group behind Celebrations includes several multi-disciplinary art certificate holders, a multiple first-place award winner from the city of Plymouth, and the gallery’s in-house poet, whose work has earned compliments from both Grammy and Logie winners.
The exhibition features a vibrant mix of creators with unique styles and stories.
Marg Wilmot brings her love of colour to life through textiles; Jane Keane’s work sparkles with crystal glasses and the glow of fireworks; Glenda Mackay reflects a love letter to travel and tea; and Sheri Loulou explores love and independence.
With vivid hand-dyed wool and fibre, Suzanne French presents a lush bouquet and former ballroom dancer, Brenda Tuddenham allows her brush to follow the rhythm of dance.
Evelyn Marshall honours the natural world and freedom, celebration means honouring the natural world.
Known for her sweeping aerial views and hot air balloon scenes, she captures the feeling of freedom that comes with seeing life from above.
