“I’m just very honoured and humbled to be elected president. I want to continue the legacy of my forefathers who established the sub-branch and continue to grow with our community,” he told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
In overseeing the daily operation of the sub-branch, Mr Guidotti’s objective is to provide support to veterans and their families and encourage mateship between those who have served and the community.
“I encourage homeless veterans in society to reach out for assistance, without the need to join the sub-branch, and encourage female membership and support the Women’s Auxiliary and Legacy to assist veterans and their families,” he said.
Actively engaging in hospital and aged care visitations, supporting Veterans through welfare and advocacy, being open and transparent, and treating everyone with dignity and respect are also very much on the mind of the new president.
Mr Guidotti moved to Yarrawonga in 2015 from Geelong where he was a member of the
Geelong RSL and previously at Footscray RSL and Queenscliff/Pt Lonsdale RSL sub-branches.
His background was with the Royal Australian Navy from 1976-1982 (Leading Seaman Radio
Operator), Lighthouse Keeper – Point Lonsdale 1982-1991 and was a Compliance Officer with the Australian Taxation Officer until 2017.
The self-acclaimed soccer tragic represented the Australian Defence Force Soccer Team in 1976 and takes a keen interest in AFL, Rugby League and Women’s Soccer.
