The Gladys Mitchell Trust, administered by the Rotary Club of Yarrawonga Mulwala for the Mitchell family, has for many years awarded scholarships for $1000 to Year 12 students who live locally, attend a local school and who are accepted into an approved Tertiary Course.
The Trust was established by her family, in the memory of a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her family. She was predeceased by her husband Laurie, who was a member of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Rotary Club and Gladys was a member of the Innerwheel Club.
In recognition of her active interest in education and charitable works, and keen interest in young people, she was recipient of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship Award.
The Scholarship money is to defray educational expenses such as books, equipment and accommodation etc.
