This dedicated volunteer group works tirelessly behind the scenes directly supporting the hospital’s services, all with the aim of improving health outcomes.
From purchasing critical hospital equipment to funding staff development and annual scholarships, Helping Hands ensures that donations and fundraising efforts are directly invested back into the community’s health service.
Helping Hands committee member, Bronwyn Thomas said Helping Hands was more than a fundraising group.
“It’s the heartbeat of community care at Yarrawonga Health,” Bronwyn said.
“Every dollar raised, and every effort made directly supports better outcomes for patients, staff, and our broader community.”
The Helping Hands Scholarship Program is one of the group’s standout contributions supporting Yarrawonga Health employees pursuing further education or specialist training.
The scholarships are a valuable tool in growing and retaining skilled healthcare workers in the region.
Whether it's supporting a nurse to complete advanced training, funding a new piece of diagnostic equipment, or contributing to community wellbeing initiatives, Helping Hands is at the heart of it.
As Yarrawonga Health continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of a growing community, so too does the need for passionate people willing to lend their time and energy to a great cause.
Helping Hands is looking for new members to join their friendly and welcoming group.
If you have a passion for community health, want to be part of something meaningful, or have experience in fundraising, administration, or events, the committee would love to hear from you.
Joining Helping Hands is a fantastic way to give back, meet new people, and play an important role in supporting the future of local healthcare.
