Ian Barton has been inducted as Yarrawonga Mulwala Rotary Club President for 2019/20 by outgoing President Joe Cilia and presented with the tools of office.

Ian welcomed members and guests and congratulated Joe on his year’s leadership before introducing his incoming board.
He embraced this year’s theme, ‘Rotary connects the world’ and said this theme must extend to the Yarrawonga Mulwala Club.President Ian aims to increase membership and friendships during his year in office.
He looks forward to a bigger and better market, increased involvement with youth locally as well as the present commitment and introduction of some new projects locally, such as an art expo, among other projects.
Ian was warmly welcomed into the position by members and their guests.Presentation of Awards: Ian Barton, Joe Cilia, and John Taylor were granted Paul Harris Fellow Awards, the highest recognition the club can give.
The Fred Haebich Award, granted annually to a member for outstanding service, as voted by members, went to Stuart Nixon.
Dave Barratt was congratulated on his appointment as Assistant Governor (District 9790).
The newest member Dennis Heslin was formerly welcomed to the club and departing Exchange Student, Josie Paessens was farewelled.
She was given a kangaroo skin and a cheongsam (courtesy of PE Ken Yap) as mementos of her time in Yarrawonga.
