Deniliquin’s first ever Mother’s Day Classic was well supported, with 142 people taking part in the fundraising fun run/walk.

Participants were spread between the 10km, 5km and 1km kid’s dash options with plenty of pink on display, and medals able to be received.
There was also a tribute wall at the registration and information tent with messages honouring those affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
The event was coordinated by the ‘Run It In Deni’ group, with proceeds being donated to ovarian and breast cancer charities.
Organisers thanked everyone for their participation, including volunteers and the community spirit that made the event possible, before looking ahead to next year’s event.
Prizes included Deni RSL, Purtills, The Depot, Wired Entertainment and Brick Kiln Cafe vouchers, and recipients were as follows:
10km males - Tom Druitt, Jarryd Pearce and Ash Morris.
10km females - Montana Jones, Georgia Van Leishout and Jemima Donovan.
5km males - Tanaka Maunganidze, Bruce Maunganidze, and Oliver Hall.
5km females - Sharon Pedersen, Emily Leech and Christine Evola.
1km boy and girl - Levi Robson and Millicent Hall.
