Sam and Jeremy played with Cobram Roar Football Club the last two years and beforehand, played several years in the Cobram Junior Soccer Association Saturday competition.
Both played representative soccer for AWFA this season prior to their selection in the National Junior Premier League.
Year 8 Yarrawonga P-12 College student Jeremy plays wing or midfield. He was runner up in the best and fairest this season for Cobram and is consistently one of the best players on the field.
Jeremy has outstanding skills and not only controls the play but has the ability to score goals also, which makes him a particularly dangerous player.
Sam, a Year 7 student at Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga, plays striker. He won best and fairest, along with the goal kicking for under 12 and 13s in his first season and finished as runner up in the goal kicking this year.
With their positions on the pitch still undecided at the higher level, both are keen to cement their place in the side and propel Murray United to the top of the ladder in 2024.
Albury Wodonga Football Association U13s represent the best players from across several clubs throughout North East Victoria and the Southern Riverina.
Sam and Jeremy will train three days a week leading up to Christmas before resuming early in January. They play 11 qualifying rounds against the likes of Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City football clubs, then play in their relevant divisions both at home in Wodonga and away in Melbourne.
Murray United U14’s coach Cade Webb is pleased with the boys’ performance and selection, and is excited about the prospects for the coming 2024 season for the U14s.
