Kate Beattie is the 2025 Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s (PSA) Victorian Intern Pharmacist of the Year
From Yarrawonga schoolgirl to state-wide recognition, 23-year-old Kate Beattie has shown that hard work, community spirit and a love for helping others can take you far.

The former Sacred Heart College student, who grew up in Yarrawonga with her mum Michele and sisters Jessica and Emma, has been named the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s (PSA) Victorian Intern Pharmacist of the Year for 2025.
Currently completing her internship at Bendigo UFS, Kate stood out among nominees across the state for her clinical knowledge, commitment to patient care and leadership qualities.
“I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award,” Kate said.
“Working here has given me the chance to spend more time with patients, have meaningful conversations, follow up on their care, and be a familiar, trusted face in the community.
“It’s reminded me why I fell in love with pharmacy and the kind of pharmacist I aspire to be.”

Kate’s passion began at just 14 years old, working weekends and school holidays at Terry White Pharmacy in Yarrawonga.
“That’s where I got my incentive to become a pharmacist,” she said.
“I love helping people, giving advice and making health care accessible.”
Kate will complete her Bachelor of Pharmacy at La Trobe University this year and has begun her internship in Bendigo.
But her heart remains close to home.
“On finishing my degree, I am keen to return to Yarrawonga,” she said.
“I’ve always wanted to work regionally, and I see my future here.”
