This year, Tastes of the Goulburn features some of the most compelling culinary talents from around the region and will delight gourmet lovers of all tastes and ages.
Discover the stories behind our region’s best produce and learn new cooking techniques, flavours and ways to experiment with regional ingredients in your home kitchen.
Tastes of the Goulburn will be on Saturday, April 27. Here are the activities lined up for this year’s event.
• Join a free cookie decorating workshop to satisfy the sweet tooth and delight the young and young at heart with ‘Kids and Cookies with Crumbs & Co’ with presenter Sue Ellis from 10.30am to 11am.
• Impress guests and improve your grill game with insider secrets on using craft beer to flavour, cook and drink with barbecue meats with ‘Craft brew and BBQ with Tooborac Brewery and The Meat Room’, presented by James Carlin and James Mele from noon to 12.30pm.
• Learn how to create fresh ricotta at home with the finest produce from one of Australia’s ethical dairies and discover delicious local ingredients to give your creation a sweet or savoury twist with ‘Ricotta duets with How Now Dairy, Apiary Made and Divine Mushrooms’ presented by Cathy Palmer and Simon Willis from 1pm to 1.30pm.
• Discover a showcase of flavours from Taungurung country in a collaboration that pays homage to the diverse food, people and stories of our region from 2pm to 2.30pm with ‘Food, people, story with Tahbilk, Happy Little Accidents’ presented by Tahbilk head chef Johnny Mackerson and Aimee Cahill.
• Lastly, Troy Pycroft and Lee Buttler will be presenting ‘Slow and Saucy with Goulburn Valley Pork and Allenbee Fields Preserves’ from 3pm to 3.30pm, where you can learn about free-ranging pigs and sustainable pasture management and discover cooking techniques to create a mouthwatering slow-cooked pork shoulder with raspberry chilli sauce.
Tastes of the Goulburn is an exciting way to get to know the region’s abundant produce and learn how to get it from farm to table.
Entry price to Tastes of the Goulburn is $35 and includes an official event tasting glass.
